The evolution of money: from credit cards to mobile banking
We can say that banks have existed practically since the beginning of time, since it has always been necessary for organisations or people to finance the projects and ideas that in turn have enabled the evolution of humanity itself. Since the appearance of the first Barclays ATM in 1967 in London, the banking revolution has been one of the most intense in the world economic system.
But if we talk about the real revolution, this is what the sector has experienced with new technologies. These made it possible for Banesto and Banco Central Hispano to create the first electronic banking in Spain in 1995 and also enabled the emergence of mobile banking. Today 61% of the citizens of our country, according to the Informe Ditrendia: Mobile report, are users of this type of banking, which in turn has driven the evolution of commercial offices.
