What human beings will be like in the future
Human beings have become a species capable of adapting to the world around them. Through new technologies, we are able to improve our skills and abilities.
Everything is pointing to the fact that in the future technology will completely fuse with our bodies until we become cyborgs. These future human beings will improve their abilities thanks to cybernetic advances. For example, Neil Harbisson was the first cyborg in history, with an antenna in his head that enables him to better perceive colours.
Within a few years, gadgets will be fully integrated into our day to day lives. New devices that are beginning to appear today are very varied. There are helmets for sportspeople that adapt to every impact so that the brain is not damaged. On the other hand, virtual reality glasses are already finding a practical application in real life: we are using them to learn.
Those are some of the advances that we know the most about, but others are starting to emerge. For example, smart contact lenses have been developed that monitor different parameters in our bodies. There is also work being done on smart tattoos that change colour according to the state of the organism. Lastly, chips implanted under the skin will make us become fully technological beings. They will work as an identification system to open doors and make payments, for example.
